Privacy Statement for CivilRightsDream.net and CivilRightsDream.com

CivilRightsDream collects and stores information when an individual registers at CivilRightsDream, sends an email to kbedell@civilrightsdream.net, gives Ken Bedell a business card, or provides information over the telephone or by any other means. The information collected may include name, email, telephone, mailing address, and a record of email and phone communications. This information is stored in a Salesforce.com database where Salesforce.com is responsible for its security. (See https://www.salesforce.com/company/privacy/full_privacy/)

Individuals who register at CivilRightsDream will have the information they supply stored on the computer owned by the webhosting company HostMonster. They are responsible for securing that data. (See https://www.hostmonster.com/privacy-policy)

CivilRightsDream does not knowingly collect or use any personal information from children under the age of 13 without obtaining verifiable parental consent.

The collected information is used for three purposes: 1) to prepare mailings to groups of people that promote CivilrightsDream.net, 2) to inform people about events or opportunities in the area where they live, and 3) as a contact list for Ken Bedell to contact individuals.

To accomplish the first purpose, email addresses are provided to MailChimp.com where they are responsible for the security of the data. (see https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/)

Information about individuals is never shared with other organizations. And it is never sold.

If you are a data subject covered under GDPR and you wish to be removed from the CivilRightsDream database, send your request to members@civilrightsdream.net Anyone wishing to be removed from the list of people receiving impersonal email and/or does not want to receive information about events in your area should contact members@civilrightsdream.net.

These policies and practices may change in the future. If we change or update this Privacy Statement, we will notify you by posting a notice on our web site. These notices will allow you to easily link to and view the updated policy if you wish. Individuals impacted by the European Union GDPR will receive an email if modifications are made to this policy.
